5 Easy Halloween cocktail recipes
Halloween is the most delightfully spooky night of the season, full of creepy costumes, trick-or-treating and pumpkin carving. But the best part of Halloween is the parties!
Here are our top 5 cocktail recipes for the best Halloween-themed cocktails at your student residences:
1) Bloody Martini
This bloody beverage gets its vibrant red colour from juicy pomegranate mixed with vermouth and gin. Garnish with a fresh hint of blackberries and mint for extra presentation points and a super-easy cocktail.
Ingredients:
7-8 ice cubes
15ml extra dry vermouth
75ml London dry gin
60ml pomegranate juice drink
Garnish:
4 blackberries
1 tsp icing sugar
A mint sprig
How to make it:
Put 7-8 ice cubes in a medium-sized jug and add 15ml extra dry vermouth.
Stir, then add 75ml of gin and 60ml of pomegranate juice and stir again.
Strain into a martini glass.
Pick 4 blackberries and place them in a sieve. Gently mash using a fork and stir in 1 tsp of icing sugar until dissolved.
Drizzle the mashed blackberries around the rim of the class, giving it a spooky, bloody look.
Gently slice three blackberries and arrange them on the side of the glass, then finish with a mint sprig and enjoy!
2) Spooky Glowing Jelly Shots
These 4 ingredient shots are super easy to make and help you get into the Halloween spirit.
Ingredients:
2 cups of tonic water
2 packages of jelly (two different flavours of your choice)
1 cup of water
1 cup of vodka
How to make it:
Make the first layer by pouring one cup of tonic water into a pot over a high heat.
Once the water starts to boil add your first flavour of jelly.
Whisk until the mix has fully dissolved and then pour half a cup of water and half a cup of vodka. Stir it in.
Pour the jelly into shot glasses and fill them two-thirds of the way up.
Place them into the fridge for around 30-35 mins.
Make the second layer by making the second flavour of jelly following the same process.
Now take out the jelly shots from the fridge and top each one up with the second jelly mixture.
Return the shots to the fridge and let them set for 2-3 hours – then they’re ready!
3) Black Magic Margaritas
This cocktail can be made in a speedy 5 minutes. This witchy beverage is sure to kick off your night with good spells thanks to its tangy lime and tequila blend.
Ingredients:
40g black sprinkles/sugar
Ice
120ml silver tequila
60ml triple sec
120ml lime juice
Red food colouring
Blue food colouring
Green food colouring
Garnish:
Lime slices
How to make it:
Rim two glasses with a lime slice and dip in the black sugar.
Divide the tequila, triple sec, and lime juice between two glasses and stir to combine.
Add food colouring until the witchy black colour appears.
Add ice, then garnish with a slice of lime and you’re ready to haunt the night away!
4) Hocus Pocus Cranberry Vodka Syringe Shots
This cranberry shot has a fruity flavour with the addition of sparkling lemon-lime soda. You can serve them in a shot glass, but you can also find syringes on Amazon for £1.68 for a spooky twist.
Ingredients:
100ml of chilled lemon-lime soda
25ml cranberry vodka
How to make it:
Fill a tall glass halfway with chilled soda and add 25ml vodka into a syringe.
Place the syringes into the soda.
To take the shot, the drinker shoots the syringe directly into their mouth then chases it with soda. Or you could inject the shot into the glass of soda and take the shot!
5. Gruesome Green Beer
For those who like their beer we have you covered. This Halloween-themed beer is simply food colouring and beer to let everyone get into the Halloween spirit.
Ingredients:
340ml light beer
2 drops green food colouring
How to make it:
Add 1 or 2 drops of green food colouring to a glass.
Pour the beer into the glass and stir till the vibrant green is fully mixed in.
