Go to an escape room

Escape rooms are not exclusive to London but the capital does boast a great variety of them! It’s a brilliant way to test your brain-power with something that isn’t an essay or exam, while also having a lot of fun. Escape room games are a great option for birthdays or celebrations where there is a large group of you. There are a variety of fantastic escape rooms all across London, so try one out this year.

Try the food stalls at Boxpark Shoreditch

Boxpark is a great place for food lovers - a pop-up mall which boasts a wide variety of street food options from all over the world. From burgers to chicken to amazing vegan kebabs, there’s something for absolutely everyone at Boxpark. As well as food, there also a number of stores selling everything from clothes to watches. Boxpark also has locations in Wembley and Croydon, so wherever you are you can check it out.

Go to London’s Canal Bookstore

Word on the Water is a beautiful bookshop in King’s Cross which is housed in a barge! It’s a great Instagram opportunity, as well as being perfect for the bookworms out there. It holds a whole range of books - both fiction and non-fiction - including some really interesting, old editions. For international students looking to immerse themselves in the literary culture of London, We would definitely recommend checking it out.

Try one of the unusual walking tours

London has a number of fantastic walking tours in different parts of the city. What’s great is that many of these are free - the perfect option for curious international students who may be on a budget. From more popular options such as the Jack the Ripper and the Sherlock Holmes tours, to more unusual options like The London Loo tour, these walks are a great way to get some exercise, learn something new and have a bit of fun!

Keep an eye out for interesting art exhibitions

There are a number of great and famous galleries in London including the Tate Modern and the National Portrait Gallery. However, there are also a number of smaller and more unusual art exhibitions which you can find if you look a little deeper. 2019 looks like it will be a good year for interesting art exhibitions so remember to keep your eyes peeled.

Indoor crazy golf has become extremely popular in the capital, with courses popping up all over London. Many combine the crazy golf with delicious food and drinks so it’s the perfect choice for a student night out. The design of these mini golf courses is often fantastic so make sure you snap a few pics while you’re there.
