West London's Best Cheap Eats for Students

West London is a great place to live for so many reasons - one being the fantastic range of food options available! Today we’re looking at cheap eats for students and we’ve put together a guide for the best places to eat in West London.

Portobello & Golborne Market

This market, based along Portobello Road and Golborne Road, is a fantastic option for getting a cheap meal in London on a Friday or Saturday. You can’t really go wrong with delicious and authentic street food, and Portobello Market is no exception to this. You can enjoy a selection of foods from all around the world - including churros, bratwurst, paella, crepes and curry. In the Golborne Road section of the market, you can enjoy the food all week long! With street food options from North Africa and the Caribbean, you’ll be spoilt for choice.

Phat Phuc Noodle Bar

Although Chelsea isn’t necessarily known for its cheap food options, one of the cheapest and best places to eat in West London is the Phat Phuc Noodle Bar. It can be found just off King’s Road and is located in a covered courtyard area. The menu is comprised of classic Vietnamese food options, with each main priced very reasonably at just £8. The most popular dish is the Laksa, where you have a choice of beef, chicken, prawns or vegetables. Other tasty-sounding options include stir-frys, noodle soups and noodle salads.

Tommi’s Burger Joint

Another Chelsea food hotspot is Tommi’s Burger Joint. While not quite as cheap as a market stall, you can get a burger, fries and a drink all for £10.90 - perfect when you’re in the mood for a really substantial and filling dinner. It’s an incredibly popular restaurant, with many queueing up to try the tasty burgers. If you’ve got a sweet tooth, you should also make sure to try one of the shakes!

Arancina

Based in the heart of Notting Hill, Arancina is a rustic Italian restaurant which was originally founded in Rome and later brought over to London. If you’re looking for something quick, cheap and cheerful, you can opt for a delicious pizza slice, all of which are freshly made at their pizza counter all day long. You can also visit Arancina for a sit-down meal - they serve a variety of pasta dishes, arancini balls and tasty sides. Also, if you’re vegan, gluten-free or dairy-free, Arancina has pizza options for you!
