Exploring the highlights of Central London

At Beaumont House, we are situated in Central London and are grateful to be in the heart of the city with access to major bus and underground transport links. To help you decide whether Central London is the best spot for you, we’re going to delve into nearby areas and find out what’s it’s like to live there.

Westminster

Home to London’s Parliament and Big Ben, Westminster allows you to experience London at its best. The majority of people living there are aged between 20-29, so the area has a young feel to it. However, it isn’t generally considered an area that students live in. That said, when it comes to nightlife, Westminster does have its perks; Soho is right on your doorstep making. Out of all the colleges and Universities in the area, Westminster is best-suited to students who go to Chelsea College of Arts University.

Camden

Anybody who has visited Camden will know the buzz and energy that comes with it. But what is it like to live there as a student? With a young and indie culture, many art students choose to rent here. It has great transport links and is connected to the Northern Line and Overground. What’s more, it’s generally considered cheaper than other student accommodation in central London.

Islington

This area remains a popular choice for student accommodation in central London as it has a great array of bars and cafes. Likewise, it is a well-connected area and only a 30-minute walk away from the city centre. It is popular with students looking to live in period properties, as you will find plenty of old Victorian school buildings that have been converted into apartments. Islington, like most places, offers a variety of shops, retro cinemas and farmers markers. But it is renowned for Camden Passage, which offers locals some of the best vintage shops and markets in the city.

Greenwich

Greenwich wouldn’t be your go-to place when looking for student living. It can be rather expensive and it tends to be populated by families and commuters. Whilst there are some prime tourist spots, there isn’t much of a focus on the nightlife. However, if you are not a fan of bars or clubs, then the cobbled streets, cute cafes and riverside pubs of Greenwich could make it the perfect choice.

Hackney

Often described as having an inclusive feel, this is the closest you will get to a village in London. The borough is renowned for its green spaces in the form of parks and gardens, something you won’t get with every student accommodation in central London. Like Islington, Hackney has a large number of Victorian architecture. Recently, it has become much more student-orientated, following in the footsteps of Shoreditch, it offers an edgy, urban scene in the midst of the centre.

Wandsworth

Thanks to its fantastic selection of shops, cafes and more, Wandsworth has been voted as one of the best places to live in the UK. Southwark remains one of London’s best-connected areas with a wealth of things to do and see along its famous Southbank. So, if you love going to the theatre or eating out and trying new foods, Southwark is a great place to live as a student.

Beaumont House student accommodation is just down the road, making it an amazing place to live - you won’t even need to take the tube to get there.
